Subject: Meeting Minutes April 4

Hi everyone,

Here is a summary of what happened at the  meeting last night:

Faculty Nominations

The nominations for the faculty awards (teaching excellence and
undergraduate research mentor) can now be made on the internet at
www.sos.mtu.edu/oce. The deadline for nominations is April 19.  We are
targeting juniors and seniors for these nominations, so tell all your
friends about it, so they can nominate their favorite faculty member.

Officer Nominations

Nominations for next year's officers were taken.  The following people
were nominated:

	President
		Caryn Harrow

	Vice President
		Nick Whaley
		Brian Crawford

	Secretary
		Tara and Justin (they would each take half of the year)
	
	Treasurer
		Susan Sylvestor
		Kendra Fletcher

We will have elections at the next meeting which will be Thursday, 
April 20.  The new officers will take effect officially at the initiation
banquet which is going to be held at Northern Lights at 7:00 on April 25.


Science Fair

We still need to write thank yous to the sponsers and the judges, as well
as make up the packets with the evaluations and info for the teachers.  So
this Sunday at 5:00 to about 6:30, we will be doing this.  If you're free
at this time, come and help out.  We will meet in the new office, which is
on the first floor near the snack vending machines and the women's
bathroom.  


Banquet

As i mentioned before the banquet is at Northern Ligths.  We are looking
for a speaker to give a speech at the banquet.  If you know of any faculty
members that you think might be interested, let us know.  

Next Meeting
At the next meeting, April 20, we will have officer elections and will be
discussing the banquet.
